My clients often come to me feeling angry, depressed and disappointed with their relationships, careers and their lives and are at a loss as to what to do about finding a new, more productive life plan. They may experience repetitive conflicts that never seem to get resolved. Working together with the client in the context of a supportive nurturing relationship, I help them articulate their thoughts and feelings more authentically as they find solutions to improve relationships with their partners, friends, families, and co-workers. I also facilitate group therapy sessions. These group settings can provide exciting results by allowing people with similar issues to interrelate with one another and feel more comfortable discussing problems in a social environment. Another area of my work involves children and adolescents who have difficulty coping with the divorce of parents, self-esteem, behavioral problems, weight issues, social skills, and other daily life conflicts unique to their age. Treatment modalities include play and talk therapy and behavioral modification. I work collaboratively with parents as their child or teen works through these challenges. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. I received my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Miami in 2003. My training and fieldwork in Miami and New York City allow me to tailor treatment that utilizes a combination of psychodynamic approaches, cognitive behavioral and motivational enhancement therapies for work with adults in the treatment of depression and anxiety; gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues; substance abuse; grief issues; relationship concerns; and unresolved childhood wounds. I am here to help you begin gaining a new perspective on your life and making the changes you want.
